Sad faces in the airport as we get ready to leave San Diego, California.
For me, spring break has historically been an adventure in that young, wild and free kind of way. You know what I’m talking about…the college version of yourself doing an insane amount of tequila shots in your chosen destination, doing God knows what, then waking up the next morning with a hangover so bad that made you feel like you wanted to die. Then you just got up and did it all over again.
ILCK!!!! I’m sorry but that is not the way I want to spend my break anymore! No offense to the college kids of today and the many spring breakers who still party hard. I mean, YOLO, right?! It’s almost like a rite of passage, and we’ve all done it, so carry on.
Oh, but how things have changed in my little world. Long gone are the crazy and wild spring break vacations from my college days. These days, I’m happy to get away somewhere with my little family to discover new places and have some adventures. My lil guy is in first grade, so during his spring break from school this year, we went to San Diego and made trips to the Zoo, Sea World, and Legoland. One thing to know about me is that I am, and have always been, a kid at heart, so I had a blast at these places! For those of you following me on Instagram, you may have already seen some pictures but if you’re interested, here are a few snaps of our fun times in San Diego.
Since I was a kid, I used to say I wanted to move to LA and having been there many times, I was convinced I would one day live there. I still want to live in California but now San Diego has won my heart and I hope to move there someday soon with my lil crew. It’s the most beautiful city that I’ve ever visited in the US. It’s just such a happy place, with beautiful, colorful flowers and lush green everywhere. There are mountains and beaches and amazing scenic views wherever you look. Just happy feelings every day with beauty all around…doesn’t everyone want that? Hoping it will be my daily reality someday.
It’s always nice to take a break from real life and just chill.
Where did you go for spring break this year?

First, here we are just landing in SD…happy & silly.
Our first stop was In-N-Out Burger (because burgers and fries) but then we hit our cute house in La Jolla just two blocks from the beach. I don’t know about you, but once I see palm trees in sight, that’s the feeling of vacation!
Beach selfie!
Toes in the water and lil man taking it all in…
Shenanigans in Old Town
Hotel Coronado ~ this is a historic landmark and the Dragon tree was featured in the movie Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe!
Sea World selfie about to get soaked big time on Atlantis! We didn’t even know it…
… and then this happened! See my boys in the second row? I was drying off from the first round, and they went in for round 2 (photo opp!)
A little shopping on 5th Ave in San Diego { joy! }
Cake by the ocean at Windandsea Beach…I mean, come on…

Glad to see he’s not interested in girls yet…whew (as he sticks his tongue out at a Lego lady)…
We had a blast! Nothing but love, San Diego! Until next time!!
