My son’s school just hosted a Speakeasy Casino Night on Friday to raise money for the kids, and it was such a fantastic night! What a great cause and fun reason to play dress up!
Here are a few ideas for accessorizing, and some of my own personal purchases.
First, my obsession – the shoes: Blue by Betsey Johnson.
You can find her brand and fun similar styles here. I’m a bit of a “shoe ho” so forgive the multiple pictures, and close ups.
But hey, if you’re like me and enjoy a good shoe, here you go!
Next, some of the accessories which helped in my “flapper” style that were perfect for the event.
- Clutch
- Headpiece
- Chandelier Earrings
- Bracelet
I’ve had the clutch for years so I don’t remember where I got it, but you can find similar styles here, or for more reasonably priced items, you can snag a clutch style here.
The headpiece, chandelier earrings and bracelet were all purchased here. What a great little store Laila Rowe is when you need quick and easy, inexpensive accessories! Love…
Of course, I needed something to go with the 1920s flapper theme for my nails…a little inspo from Pinterest 🙂
Here’s the end product – another fantastic job by my girl, Susanna, at Q Nails Boutique!
And drumroll…the dress! I found this little number by Jessica Simpson at Lord & Taylor on sale here and I just love it! It was so perfect for a speakeasy casino night, and I’m so glad I didn’t have to break the bank for a dress – my husband is pretty happy about that too { cheesy smile cause you know I probably would’ve }…
Look at the fringe at the bottom of the dress and on the sleeves – so pretty!
What’s even better is that I’m sure I’ll have an upcoming summer event to wear it again! { joy }
Close up of the dress – look at the beautiful detail!
Finally, this coat is a vintage find which was borrowed from my sister but it was perfect for a chilly night when I wasn’t wearing much else. I mean, let’s be real…a little flapper dress and fishnet stockings aren’t exactly keepin’ a girl warm, so this coat was perfect. Also, a good reminder to check out local consignment shops cause you never know what gems you might find! Thanks, sis!
Just a few ideas for dressing and accessorizing to be a smash for a speakeasy event you might attend!
After all, what girl doesn’t like to play dress up?

This is my hubby and I in our 1920s best.
Here are a few more snaps of me with my girls, Luanda and Maria Laura. Super fun night!
