Fall was in the air the last few mornings and evenings, and I have to admit, I was pretty excited about it. I mean, just look at my rack of colorful jackets just waiting to bust out for the season.
The end of summer is near and just like every year, I know I’ll miss long days that stretch from early morning to late at night, and days of lounging by the pool, and sitting on the deck bbq’ing with a cool drink in my hand. But at the end of the day, I can’t lie. I love fall most of all. The crisp breezy air, the leaves changing colors, my birthday month in the mix, ahem, and most of all, the fashion! I mean, come on. What’s not to love? The jackets, the booties, the sweaters…layering!! Not to mention jeans, scarves and cashmere. I can’t get enough of fall fashion.
Transition pieces are always great. You can go from summer wear and simply add a sweater or jacket and some booties to complete a nice fall look.

Onto the next essential. Every woman loves a good pair of shoes, and what better way to transition than with a perfect summer dress and some booties?! Here are a few of my picks.

Here’s a practical and cute leather bootie with a lower heel that will get you through all hours of the day on your feet. And with this kind of neutral shade, you can pretty much rock them with anything. Get a pair on Shopbop here.

Now for my absolute favorite trend of the season…the velvet jean.
If you’ve never tried a pair of Rag & Bone jeans, don’t waste another minute and go buy a pair! They are so comfortable and wear in like no other. Here are their velvet jeans in…wait for it…WINE color! {{{HEART}}}
Another great color for velvet jeans is classic black. Here’s a more affordable version from Top Shop. You can do no wrong either way. I can’t wait to drape myself in velvet jeans for a night out.

With these staple pieces, you can layer and play with color, while making every outfit of the day unique and beautiful so you’re ready for the cooler months.
Ironically, I’m headed to a beach vacation on Saturday to enjoy the last week before my lil guy starts school. While I’m there, I’ll be sure to take in every last bit of summer.
But even still, the fever is real and I’m so ready…bring on the fall!
