When it comes to lip color, what’s on trend these days seems to be the deep burgundy shades. Even black and blue shades are in the mix. Call me old fashioned but unless I’m wearing a nude lip color, I’m all about that classic RED. Maybe it’s the stereotypical Latina in me that will always tend to lean towards the red shades. I guess I’ll just forever have scarlet fever, but I’m okay with that.
Here are a few of my favorites.
You can’t ever go wrong with a lipstick from MAC. They literally have every shade of red you can possibly imagine, and in every texture. My favorite is Chili, cause well, I’m a little spicy {wink}. Check out all the beautiful shades here.
This one by Stila is seriously no joke! It stayed on all throughout my date night, from pasta to laughter to smooches. Tried, tested and true! Your color won’t go anywhere for at least 6 hours. My favorite is shade is Beso {kiss in Spanish…go figure!} Grab one here.
This next one I bought during the summer for those hot nights when I just wanted to make a splash. The Nars brand is just perfect, from their powder, to their blush, and of course, lipstick! My favorite Nars red of the moment is Annabella. You can score one here.
And finally, this Nars lip pencil is my absolute favorite red of the moment, period. It’s like a crayon and super easy to apply! The best part is that it’s silky smooth and won’t bleed on the edges. My preferred color is Cruella but I have my eye on Dragon Girl to try next time. Get one here.
