Winter is here…it’s inevitable every year. And extra moisture is essential for winter skin. For those of us who live on the East Coast, let’s be real and just say it like it is…winter can be a little bitch. Winter always has me in search of all the moisture I can get every year. If I could possibly stay in my bed under the covers while fully moisturized and warm, I would do it! Ahem, especially now during a global pandemic. But alas, adulting is hard. We have responsibilities and have to leave the house from time to time, blah blah blah. The wind chill can be so real, it leaves your skin screaming for all the moisture! What’s a girl to do?! We will woman up, and face winter head on! Even during a lockdown, our skin care is still essential.
People have asked me what I use, so I’m here to share the products I swear by for my winter skin routine.
It’s no secret that I get some products for free, thanks to this lovely world of blogging, and no doubt I test them to luxuriate every now and then. But truth be told, I mostly give that stuff away unopened. While the various products I test are wonderful, and I’m always grateful to receive them, I don’t go nuts with a lot of different products on my face.
You might be surprised, but all I really use are two products.
Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer and Nerium IllumaBoost Brightening & Shield are magic. This combo is my go-to every morning of every day. If you count my cleanser, then I guess that’s three products, but you know what I mean. In the summer, I switch my Aveeno to the 30 SPF Day Mask and it’s wonderful.
BTW, I also swear by my face wash. While there are all these amazing products out there, I’m a pretty simple chica when it comes a cleanser for my face. I use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Unlike others I’ve tried which have always left my face dry, (and I’ve tried many), Cetaphil retains moisture and leaves my skin soft and smooth.
Of course, everyone’s body chemicals and pheromones work differently, so while I can’t promise that these products will work for you exactly how they work for me, I can honestly say this is all I really use, despite all the products you might find in my cabinet and goodie bags. Disclosure, I do enjoy partaking in a nightly mask every now again. My favorite by far is by GlamGlow. In my experience, you can’t go wrong with any of them.
